T. H. Roberts (1961- present)
"David's Piano Hands II," 2005,
18 x 24 inches, oil on canvas
 Private Collection

Music like the visual arts can be a creation that moves the soul.  "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." God created out of nothing, "ex nihilo." Musicians and artists experience the joy of creation, taking from practically nothing, notes or paint, and creating something of considerable value.  Roberts considers his art as a gift from his Creator, through which he as the artist and those who view the art may experience a bit of the creative joy that must be God's.  David's Piano Hands II is a painting dedicated to one of Roberts' sons who is gifted in both music and art. In this painting, Roberts combines a classic instrument with youthful hands.
