T H Roberts

T H. Roberts’ vibrant paintings are more than depictions of nature, landscape and the world. They are expressions of creativity and wonder.  Roberts claims that in creativity we reflect God’s image.  He says, “I feel His pleasure when I paint.”

Born Thomas Hunt Roberts in Norfolk, Virginia in 1961, Roberts traveled the world with his family during his childhood, and lived in Afghanistan, Ocean City, Maryland, Loudoun County, Virginia, Rockport, Massachusetts and Richmond, Virginia. He has always maintained an active interest in art.   He is for the most part, self-taught.  Roberts studied oil painting briefly at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts while obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration/Economics from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. Roberts received a law degree from the University of Richmond. Roberts is an active member of the Virginia State Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and various other courts across the United States.

Roberts is passionate about his family, his faith, art, beauty, justice, soccer, coaching and almost everything else he does or is.  His paintings reflect that passion. His style is similar to the impressionists.  The paintings combine unique elements of Roberts’ artistic talent with his life experiences, impressions and passion.  He uses vibrant and often unmixed colors to give an impression of a fleeting moment in time, drawing the viewer into the painting.
